Jesus said, "When you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others when you are fasting, but only to your Father who is in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you." (Matt. 6:17-18) GOD Expects us to Fast because He Plans to reward us for it. Because sometimes the answers from GOD that we seek remain beyond reach, waiting for Faith through Fasting to hit critical mass and vault over the walls of impossibility. And fasting is a way of reprioritizing yourself; making the demands of your body subservient to that of your spirit, so as to free your faith to connect with GOD's promises. In Jn 4, when the disciples brought food to Jesus, he said, “I have food to eat that you don’t understand. My food is to do the will of Him who sent me, and to complete His tasks.” Fasting is a way of getting hold of the food that Jesus spoke of, so that you can complete the tasks He has for you to do. Paul writes in Ro 12:1-2, "Therefore I exhort you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a sacrifice—alive, holy, and pleasing to God–which is your reasonable service. Do not be conformed to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve what is the will of God—what is good and well-pleasing and perfect." GOD has a perfect will for your life, your family, ministry, and job. Fasting is a holy & healthy way for you to make your body a sacrifice to GOD, so that your Mind can be renewed, and you can KNOW THE PERFECT WILL OF GOD. Fasting…

“Rise Up and Run This Race!”
“Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love; break up your fallow ground, for it is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and rain righteousness upon you.” (Hosea 10:12 )
You are not called to a spiritual routine, but to a walk with God. You can follow a routine without vision or purpose. But a walk with God takes deliberate action and the constant flexibility to adapt and change, as you seek God daily for his will in your life.
Today re-enforce your determination to pursue God with fasting and prayer... Don’t sit on the sidelines! Don’t let up! Don’t let your life be run for you by routine!
This fast is about you taking back the reigns of your life. If you make the sacrifice to seek and walk with God he will light your way with understanding and direct your steps.
Do you know why you are where you are? Do you know where you’re going? God is in your life to direct you in his will. Don’t let the dullness of routine keep you bound. Shake loose with fasting and prayer. Rise up and run this race!
Running With You, Pastor Nick
“STAY-through”
“After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him. So Jesus said to the twelve, "Do you want to go away as well?" Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life,” (John 6:66-68)
Some come to Jesus for a break-through, and afterword stop following. But you need a STAY-through so you won’t allow yourself to drift away.
Be like Peter, and regardless of your blunders, realize that only in following and staying with Jesus will the words of eternal life do you any good.
Don’t be the Christian who breaks-through and then settles into a stagnant life of me-first religion. Keep on fasting for that STAY-through to keep up with Jesus! And you’ll have the words of eternal life to be your light and strength.

“Win This Race!”
“Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin that so easily beset us, and let us run with patients the race that is set before us…” (Heb 12:1)
From besetting sins lodged in the secret recesses of our lives, to broken disciplines and unfettered indulgences, we are freeing ourselves in Christ through this fast so we can get up to speed with God and run this race.
It’s the race of purpose-in-Christ to the finish line of destiny; running against the demonic winds of distraction.
You are designed for destiny, built to run with God. But focus on sin and self indulgence redirects you from that goal. Fasting and prayer resets your vision on Jesus and detangles your feet to re-join the flow of God‘s purpose and blessing.
Keep fasting! Forsake! Take hold! WIN THIS RACE!
“This Is My Prayer”
“O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto You, and will look up.” (Psalms 5:3)
O that You would truly re-establish me in that secure position with You, where You and your manifest presence is the only proof of authenticity me! This my prayer O Lord.

“The Bread Of LIFE”
“And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” (John 6:35)
Make Jesus YOUR Bread of LIFE (main staple of nourishment) in your home.
Instead of sinking down into worry when you’re burdened and confused...
Instead of comforting yourself with the TV when you’re stressed out...
Instead of filling your stomach by over-eating when you’re spiritually empty...
Instead of venting anger as your response when you’re frustrated...
Instead of letting those things rule you, eat the Bread of LIFE, and you’ll have true peace and comfort, keeping emotions, speech, TV, and food under control.
Sink down into... Comfort yourself with... Fill your stomach with... Respond to... and vent... Jesus, the Bread of LIFE.
Let the devil know that in your house, when you’re burdened and confused, stressed, spiritually empty, and frustrated, you’ll be filling your hunger and thirst with the Bread of LIFE!
