Welcome to Faith Christian Church!
Why are we here? It’s simple: We believe that every life matters to God. That answer may sound uncomplicated, but we believe it to be the absolute truth. It’s why we are passionate about meeting people where they are, accepting them for who they are and providing weekend services that are exciting and filled with Biblical messages that address everyday challenges, hopes and heartbreaks. We’re all about connecting people to God, growing to be like Christ and in community with others and serving the world.
While you’re here we’d suggest you start with the “FAQ” tab, which will answer some common inquiries. Please browse our site to your heart’s content, and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us. Please remember: whatever your circumstances—single, married, single again, with or without children—and no matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done, you matter to God and so you matter to us!
-Pastor Tim Smith
THIS WEEKEND AT FAITH

We continue our sermon series from the book of James this week dealing with the 3rd chapter. James offers another of his prescriptions for a healthy soul: taming the tongue.
As the image below suggests many people when they think about taming the tongue, think only about shutting up.
But James says there's more to it than that. Learning to “shut up” w hen you need to is only part of taming the tongue … you’re really dealing with two extremes. An untamed tongue doesn’t just say too much – it also says too little. The trick to taming the tongue is to find balance between the two extremes .
James tells us that this small muscle in our mouths can be a terrible troublemaker because it has awesome power. And he insists that just as a Doctor asks us to stick out our tongues and say "Ahhhhh," to check for physical health, Jesus, the Great Physician does the same thing and measures spiritual health by what our tongue speaks. Now, no matter where you are in your spiritual journey, from just checking this whole God thing out or a committed follower of Jesus, this is a message where all of us can gain great benefit. Because like the other studies in this book, this is very practical and demonstrates once again a religion that really works.
You can read James 3:1-12 to prepare.
