All of us have at one time or another, chaffed under divine silence. There are so many thing that can make us cry out to God. The Doctor tells you it is malignant, your boss tells you, you're fired, your mate says, "I don't think I love you anymore." When those kinds of traumatic things happen we expect God to intervene or at least bring relief. But instead of comforting reassurance we often get silence. And as the deafening silence continues from above, the pain intensifies below. Many allow the perceived silence to rob them of their joy and some have allowed their faith to die.
    As we study this Psalm, we will become aware or be reminded that God's ways are not our ways and that despite our feelings God is there for us and has been all the time.
