Come as you are…you don’t have to dress up. You don’t have to be any particular age. We couldn’t care less who you voted for in the last election. And please, don’t feel the need to pretend about anything.

Last week we left off by saying that recovery actually begins with “we,” not “they.” That while we wait around for Washington, or while we wait around for somebody out there called “they” to fix the country, the truth is recovery begins with me and recovery begins with you.

 

This week we want to drill down a little deeper and take a "fearless moral inventory." Anyone who has ever recovered from anything serious was willing to look in the mirror and face what they saw, quit rationalizing, quit blaming, and just look in the mirror making a fearless, moral inventory of themselves. You see, it’s not enough if we really want to recover to admit it’s “we” not “they,” we’ve also got to move on to owning our issues personally.
 
So, as we continue down "Recovery Road" we need to be completely honest with ourselves. Recovery is more than admitting the problem is me, it’s actually beginning to do something about it. So, the bottom line for this week's message is simply this: recovery begins with a fearless, moral inventory.
